Carolyn Diemicke started her volunteer career in Ponce Inlet in the early 1980’s. She was chairperson of the Board of Adjustments for over ten years. She was also an early Ponce Inlet Community Center (PICCI) Board Member. As a Garden Club member, she oversaw much of the planting and landscaping in the town. “She had planting, digging and beautifying in her DNA”, according to James Utter, who nominated her. “Some of her legacy,” he said includes the grounds at Public Works, the Lighthouse, the Marine Science Center, Kay and Ayres Davies Park and the Tim Pollard Playground and Tennis Courts.
